Ilha Grande's beaches are among Brazil's most beautiful — crystal clear waters, preserved Atlantic Forest, and breathtaking scenery. Learn about the main ones and discover how to get to each.

Lopes Mendes

Repeatedly voted one of the most beautiful beaches in the world: a wide strip of fine white sand, open sea with greenish waters and waves. It can be reached by trail from Pouso or by boat — it is the destination of the Lopes Mendes Beach tour.

Lagoa Azul (Blue Lagoon)

A natural pool with calm, transparent waters, a perfect spot for snorkeling and seeing many fish. A definite stop on almost every boat tour around the island.

Praia do Dentista (Dentist's Beach) and Botinas Islands

One of the most photographed spots in Ilha Grande: green and crystalline sea between the Botinas Islands. It is part of the Praia do Dentista and Paradise Islands itinerary.

Aventureiro

Located on the preserved southern side of the island, with the famous almond tree leaning over the sand and strong waves beloved by surfers. Experience it on the Ilha Grande Island Tour.

Other Must-See Beaches

Lagoa Verde, Saco do Céu, Praia da Feiticeira and Feiticeira Waterfall, Dois Rios, Praia dos Meros, Caxadaço, Parnaioca and Cataguases Island. The best way to see several in one day is by boat — see all Ilha Grande boat tours.
