Where is Ilha Grande
Ilha Grande is located in the municipality of Angra dos Reis, on the southern coast of Rio de Janeiro — about 150 km from the capital. Access is only by sea, and the main village is Vila do Abraão.
How to get there
You can get there by boat from three ports: Conceição de Jacareí, Angra dos Reis, and Mangaratiba. The easiest way is a transfer with included crossing, which picks you up in Rio and takes you to Vila do Abraão without changing transportation.

Best time to go
The island is beautiful all year round. Summer (Dec–Mar) is hotter and more bustling; April to June and September have pleasant weather and fewer people. Outside of high season, prices drop and the beaches are quieter.
